Social Events
As well as shooting, the committee organise other events that aim to get
the members together and socialise. Previous events have included summer barbeques
which have proved very popular with members and their families. The Christmas shoot
provides us with the ideal opportunity to use eccentric targets to even the odds and
the hot food provided is as far removed from turkey and stuffing as possible!
2001 Diary
Over the summer, club members joined together to
make further improvements to the Clubhouse as part of an ongoing project. Not
only does this encourage new members, but is something that the participating
members can feel proud to be able to say "I helped build that".
In June we organised a camping weekend, again involving families and friends.
With plenty of food and drink around, a good time was had by all.
The Christmas Shoot 2001 was a great success. With new members and their
families attending, it gave us the opportunity to scout for more shooting talent
in our fun shoot. A pub type quiz was added to the agenda ensuring our brains
were not left out of the proceedings! Thanks go to the three chefs and quizmaster.
2002 Diary
Following the success of the camping weekend last year, the committee agreed
to organise a repeat performance. The weather and good humour of the participants
ensured that this was another success.
The Christmas Shoot went very well again this year. The usual chilli and stew with
jacket potatoes was on offer, avoiding Turkey and Stuffing! This was followed with
a choice of three lovely puddings and some of the crumbliest mince pies you'll ever taste.
Compliements to the three cooks involved. The quiz proved popular again as did the
fun shoot which is so 'pot luck' that there is no advantage to the regular shooters.
